| Follow-up
Counseling:
Most of the persons may require follow-up counseling immediately
after post-test counseling or anytime between 1 to 5 years following
post-test counseling. This often coincides with a crisis or change
in personal circumstances. Voluntary counseling and testing services
should therefore be flexible and either be able to provide ongoing
counseling or have close links with other organizations for referral
like community organization, spiritual groups of health facilities.
Collaboration and cross referral can ensure that people with HIV
receive appropriate medical care including home care and supportive
palliative care.
