Access to Health Care

This is another area where the constitutional theory has been restricted in South Asian regions. The provision of health care is largely unregulated by the legislation. The Indian Supreme Court has held that failure on the part of the government to provide timely medical treatment to patients in need of such a treatment amounts to a violation of the right to life.
