The
female condom
The
female condom is designed to provide protection from unwanted pregnancy
and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), similar to the male condom
but for use by the receptive partner. It is 17 cm long and is made
of a strong, thin plastic sheath and is slightly bigger than the
male condom. It has flexible ring at each end as is inserted inside
the vagina.
-
It is safe and effective if used correctly and consistently.
- It
has high accessibility among both men and women in many countries.
When
should the female condom be used?
